The Philippines
I’m sorry if I’m not patriotic. I’m sorry if I don’t love my country. There could have been a lot to like about it. There are places in the Philippines that are beautiful. But most places aren’t. Sure, tourists see the great places. But do they see the slum areas? The home for the aged? Do they see the street children? The abandoned elderly? Did they hear about that government official caught with drugs in Hong Kong? WHO GOT OFF WITH A LIGHTER PUNISHMENT? Yes, that’s our government. Rich, powerful people who know how to worm their way out of trouble or squeeze out money from people.
What’s wrong with our country is the government. It always has been. Maybe you could say people like me are the problem too. But the thing is, I am only fifteen. I’m a minor. Minors can’t do anything, basically.
We could have been a rich country. But WE’RE THIRD WORLD. The government doesn’t prioritize on their projects. And you know that “celebrities” dictate the rules. You can say “celebrities” and “politicians” are the same in this country. Take Manny Pacquiao for example. There was a rumor that he was gonna run for president. HE DIDN’T EVEN GET PROPER EDUCATION. And the thing is, if he ran, he would’ve won.
